Citroen has launched the facelifted C5 Aircross SUV in India. The SUV gets updates to the exterior, interior, and features list and is now available in a single trim option. It continues to use the 2.0-litre diesel motor and is priced at Rs 36.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
Externally, the Citroen C5 Aircross loses the split headlamp design and now gets a single headlamp module with LED DRLs. The bumper is new as well, gone are the rectangular design elements, which give it a much cleaner look with the single large air intake in the middle which the brand claims have helped the car gain aerodynamic efficiency. The 18-inch alloys also feature a new design while the rear remains unchanged save for the taillamps, which get new lighting elements and a dark finish.
Inside the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircoss, there is a new larger 10-inch infotainment screen. The cube-shaped aircon vents have been replaced with rectangular ones below the infotainment display. The traditional gear lever has been replaced with a new toggle switch and the drive mode selector is now accessible via a new rectangular button. The seats get new leather and fabric upholstery in black and grey. Features available on the outgoing car continue, like LED headlamps, powered driver seat, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, six airbags and more. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster gets updated graphics. Citroen says that the seats are now more comfortable thanks to the 15mm extra padding.
Powering the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross is the same 2.0-litre diesel motor which produces 177bhp and 400Nm of torque. This comes mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to the front wheels.
With the trim reshuffle, Citroen has discontinued the entry-level Feel trim available on the pre-facelift car and is only offering the Shine trim for the facelifted C5 Aircross. The SUV is priced at Rs 36.67 lakh (ex-showroom) and rivals the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass.
