Starting Friday, Panera Bread is the latest business to roll out a COVID-19 vaccine freebie.
For three days – from July 2-4 – the chain is giving away free bagels to vaccinated customers at participating locations nationwide. No purchase is required.
“Whether you like your bagel bread-sliced or cut through the middle, or prefer savory Asiago Cheese or sweet Cinnamon Crunch, if you are vaccinated the choice is yours for one free bagel daily during the promotion, while supplies last,” the chain said in a news release. Other bagel flavors are also included.
While Krispy Kreme’s popular free doughnut offer requires flashing proof that you received the vaccine to get the daily freebie, Panera told USA TODAY this offer will be based on the honor system.
Panera’s offer comes amid a growing number of incentives offered by states, health departments and businesses throughout the nation to convince Americans to get vaccinated, which is considered vital to ending the pandemic.
Walgreens extended its short incentive for new vaccine recipients: $25 store credit. The promotion, which is not valid in Arkansas, New Jersey or New York, ends Saturday, July 3.
