OnePlus 10 expected to be launched with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset

  • OnePlus 10 will reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset.
  • It will become the first flagship device from the company to launch with a Snapdragon chipset.
  • The device will reportedly be launched as part of a limited release.

OnePlus is reportedly working on launching a new flagship smartphone, dubbed as the OnePlus 10, which will be placed below the existing OnePlus 10 Pro. This is the first time when the company has launched the base variant of a flagship series separately.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus 10 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. While OnePlus has earlier used Dimensity chipsets for its devices, this will be the first time that a flagship device will be launched without a Snapdragon processor.

To recall, OnePlus Nord 2 was the company’s first device to be equipped with a MediaTek chipset.

OnePlus may be testing the waters to see if users are willing to pay a premium to buy a device with a MediaTek chipset. The company will reportedly release the OnePlus 10 in limited quantities.

OnePlus had previously announced that the company is working on merging Oppo’s OxygenOS and ColorOS, but had to back down after fan outrage. The popularity of the OnePlus 10 will help decide which chipset future OnePlus flagship phones will be powered by.

OnePlus 10 is reportedly launching soon. Furthermore, the company is also reportedly working on a high-end variant dubbed the “OnePlus 10 Ultra”.

Apart from the MediaTek chipset, other specifications of the device are not yet known. We should know more about the OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Ultra in the coming days.
