Vallow already charged with deaths of her two childrens. She is accused of conspiring with her brother in the murder of her ex-husband.Lori Vallow, formerly accused of the deaths of her two children, was charged in connection with the murder of her fourth husband in 2019, Arizona prosecutors said Tuesday.
Vallow is charged with conspiracy for first degree murder, Maricopa County prosecutors said in a statement. A grand jury indicted you on Thursday.
It is assumed that Vallow agreed with her brother Alex Cox to kill Vallow’s husband, Charles Vallow, in 2019. Before he died, Charles Vallow filed for divorce.
Cox called 911 on July 11, 2019 and said he shot Charles Vallow to death, Maricopa County prosecutors said. He supported self-defense and was never charged. Cox died of natural causes of a blood clot in December 2019, the coroner found.
In May, Lori Vallow and her husband Chad Daybell were charged in Idaho with the murder of their two children, last seen in September 2019.
Joshua “JJ” Vallow and Tylee Ryan were respectively 7 and 16 when they disappeared.
Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel said in Tuesday’s statement that “complex and difficult cases of this nature take time to properly investigate and resolve.”
In addition to the child-related charges, Daybell was charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife, Tammy Daybell, in Idaho.
She died in October 2019 at the age of 49. Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell married weeks later. Tammy Daybell’s death was initially classified as natural, but was later classified as murder according to allegations published in May.
Daybell is also accused of insurance fraud relating to her death. Vallow was charged with conspiracy to kill her, according to prosecutors.
An e-mailed request for comment from an attorney representing Vallow on the Idaho cases was not immediately returned on Tuesday evening.
Vallow was ordered to be treated in a mental health facility earlier this month after being found unfit to stand trial for separate cover-up of the evidence he is facing.
Daybell is a self-published author who has written more than two dozen books on near-death and apocalyptic events, and many people close to Vallow have raised red flags about their beliefs and apocalyptic mood.
The two children were last seen alive in September 2019, and Vallow and Daybell never reported the children missing or worked with investigators before fleeing the state, Rexburg, Idaho police said.
They were found in Hawaii in January 2020. On June 9, 2020, human remains later confirmed to be those of the two children were found buried on the Daybell property, officials said.
